This project fits and embodies the ideas of STEAM by exhibiting the following characteristics;

This project utilizes science because by Newton's Third Law, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. In this case, the action of an athlete lifting their foot to run or jog with their cleats on has the equal and opposite reaction of gravity. If an object has more mass, more gravity will be exerted on it, and in turn, the object needs more energy to move at the same speed. If an athlete has more mud and dirt on their cleats, they'll move slower, and have a lesser athletic performance. The Kleat Kleaner solves this by taking away that extra mass and paving the way for athletes to move at top speed.

This project also utilizes technology because of the software it was designed on. The Kleat Kleaner was designed on a computer-aided design program called Onshape. Then, the Kleat Kleaner was transferred to a 3D printer, where it was created in the physical world.

This project also utilizes engineering because of the design process that it went through. This project combined science and math to create an engineering process that is very notable. Another engineering point that this project makes is the ergonomic design of the handle; the handle is not too short and not too long, which makes the cleaning process more comfortable.

This project also utilizes art because of the program that it was first designed on. I first used a drawing and art app called Procreate to sketch out the design and how I wanted it to initially look. This app was helpful because I was able to trace over a kunai to draw out the Kleat Kleaner.

This project finally utilized math by figuring out the dimensions and how big or small I wanted this project to be and how the pieces would fit together and not be awkward or hard to work with. I measured out the dimensions and how I wanted the project to look in addition to the math I needed to do for the pieces, project, and angles to all work together and look smooth. This project also utilizes math because of the angle and size at which the Kleat Kleaner operates; the Kleat Kleaner utilizes a 25° angle and half inch size to get the best cleaning experience for any size cleat, whether it be soccer, football, softball, baseball, rugby, or even track and field.
